This is a very nice Victorian PICKLE CASTOR from James W. The Quadruple Silver Plate Frame is footed with 4 openwork designed feet. Leaves form the side decorations, and a crown like header tops the piece. The lid is original to the frame – note it is marked with the same pattern number as the frame – #3628. A Cranberry art glass Jar or insert fits the frame perfectly. It has an inverted thumbprint pattern with hand painted enamel flowers & leaves. Some of the original Gold accent banding can still be seen around the middle. Period tongs are included. Tufts – Boston – Warranted – Quadruple Plate, 3628.
