A highly collectable Art Nouveau/Arts & Crafts silver plated Elkington cruet stand & condiment set designed by Dr Christopher Dresser. In 1885 Elkington registered designs by Christopher Dresser. It is are to find a set in this fantastic condition. Comprising the following pieces: Cruet stand, Salt and Pepper bottles and mustard cellar. Stamped on bottom: A – 16097 – E & Co. Crowned logo in a shield – B – Elkington & Co. Cruet stand Size: 6 1/3″ tall by 4 1/3″ wide by 4. A few fleabites to the heavy glass containers.

Height to rim with swing handle down 4.5″ Height with swing handle erect 6.25″. Square base of side 2.1. Height of the liner 3.4. Weight 358 g 12.6 ozs. The pierced decoration is similar in style to Worcester Flight period porcelain. No nibbles or cracks in the liner, in perfect condition. No dents or dings on the silver plate. Numbered on the base. I think most likely used as a cream jug or similar it is made from a metal, but have have been plated at the beginning of its life. Nice twist stem and floral decoration. Cut Glass Preserves Jar. A stunning Victorian c. 1890, cut glass and silver plated preserves Jar. The cut glass catches the light beautifully and with its simple domed lid and long handled spoon, it is a lovely object and very rare as not many have survived due to its age The lid is clearly stamped with John Grinsell & Sons mark of a cupid inside a shield and the number 13438. The jar measures approximately 3inches wide x 3 and a half inches deep x 5 inches high including the handles on the lid. The condition is very excellent considering its age. There are no nibbles to the glass, no dings to the metal work with very little wear in the plate. The cut base is scratched but this just confirms the age. This is a rare beautiful piece, this is clearly an item that has been treasured and has many years of life ahead of it. V RARE ANTIQUE style DR C DRESSER MAGNUM CLARET JUGS SILVER PLATED SIGNED CUT. This listing is for ONE RARE TO FIND MAGNUM – (2 X 70cl) – Dr. Christopher Dresser design claret jug circa 1880’s style, attributed to Hukin and Heath London, the jug has a silver plated mount with ebonised wood, handle and tapered glass bowl with star cutting to base. Topped by scallop shell lid lifts. A rare pair of silver plate and glass claret jugs, the style taken from the English Aesthetic Movement designed by Christopher Dresser. MEASUREMENTS: Height 10″ x 8″ at widest point including lip and handle… Diameter across base 5. CONDITION: Both claret jugs are in immaculate undamaged and what looks like not much used condition. There is no damage to the silver plate or hinges and no chips to the glass. The insides of both claret jugs are clean and clear of clouding. This listing is for a show shopping, scene stealing centrepiece. It is Victorian in style. It is a silver plated double ended spirit decanter with two separate compartments, one each end in the shape of a characterful pair of ducks. The Bristol Blue colour is equally eye catching against the thick bright silver plating. The tops of the duck heads are hinged for use. The hinges are in top condition. Then there is a central oval carrying handle which enables secure moving of the decanter. The feet are not uneven on a flat surface. As the photos show there is a custom made polystyrene holder for carriage which is also in its customised box, so despatch inland or overseas should provide no difficulty. Double Kate Greenaway Pickle Castor made by Tufts and marked. Silverplate is in great condition — pictures are dark because I haven’t polished it, but you can tell how it looks in the picture where the jar has been removed. Base is 4 inches wide and it stands nearly 10 inches tall. Sits well–a bit of a rock when jar is removed — otherwise solid. No breaks, cracks, or damage.
