This is a classic Victorian PICKLE CASTOR with a beautiful Cranberry satin art glass Jar or Insert. It is decorated with a raised gold enamel branch with gold leaves and bright white flowers, tiny black squiggly twigs fill the background. The decor fills the front and sides – the back of the jar is undecorated. The silver plated Frame appears to have been marked twice – originally “Triple Plate” and a pattern number’50_’ – topped with an applied disc: TAUNTON Silver Plate Co.
