Chatterley & Sons Ltd until at least 1993 at Albert Works, New Town Rw and Pitsford St, Birmingham. Another known address is 87 Hatton Garden, London in the 1880s. The hallmark “JBC&S Ltd” into a crescent was registered in 1896 at Birmingham Assay Office. The one into a shield was registered in 1925. This is one of the infrequent cases of using the same punch on sterling silver and silver plate items. Original set with the early crescent moon company’s making, including all six pieces set in excellent condition showing no cracks or fissures to the bottles, all caps shows moderate wear and fit properly, strong hinge to the mustard jar, one of the shakers is missing a collar, signs of wear and used as expected, all three paneled ball stoppers in good condition one is chipped to the bottom as pictured all three fit properly amd tight no wobble, the caddy with some signs of use and wear, overall bright mirrored finish with excellent quality plating and manufacture one of the nuts is missing however this do not affect in ant way the stability o it, attaches nice and firm 8 7/8″ b 9″ 4.7 lbs weight before packing.
